Summer is almost here (for the Northern Hemisphere anyway!) What better time to share this awe-inspiring first Vine from space, complete with the sun shining brightly.
Astronaut Reid Wiseman posted the first Vine video from space, showing a time-lapse of a single orbit around the Earth.
Seeing beautiful footage like this makes us even more excited about the progress Virgin Galactic is making towards commercial space travel.
This stunning six second clip was shot on board the International Space Station while parallel to the terminator line, which separates the parts of the Earth experiencing daylight and darkness.
It’s a wonderful depiction of the Earth rotating around the sun, and the sun never the whole way around.
It reminded me of a great line from Elvis Presley: “Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain't going away."
From one music legend to another, it also reminded me of The Beatles’ most summery moment: Here Comes The Sun!
What are you most looking forward to this summer? I can’t wait for all the family to come out to Necker Island to spend some quality time together.
Whatever you get up to this summer, I hope you enjoy - and stay safe in - the sunshine.
