Virgin Hotels has announced that it will open and operate a new property in Silicon Valley.
The hotel will be part of a residential and retail complex called The Fields that broke ground in November 2015. The hotel will be developed by Lyon Living and is expected to break ground in 2017 before opening toward the end of 2019.
“As we grow the Virgin Hotels brand, the way we continue to expand our footprint in key destinations that align with our brand values is incredibly exciting,” Raul Leal, Virgin Hotels CEO, said. “Our move into Silicon Valley is the perfect example of this, given our dedication to thoughtful technology within our guest experience.”
Frank Suryan Jr, CEO of Lyon Living, added: “Perfectly positioned in the tech capital of the world, we’re pushing the boundaries of style and convenience in modern living, creating an environment uniquely suited to today’s residents and tomorrow’s entrepreneurs.”
The Virgin Hotel Silicon Valley will have 200 rooms and suits, multiple food and beverage outlets, including its flagship The Commons Club, a coffee shop, meeting spaces and a rooftop bar and live music venue.
Virgin Hotels currently has one property open in Chicago, with more hotels being worked on in Nashville, Dallas, Palm Springs and New York. They’re also looking at sites in cities such as Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, Washington DC, and London.
