The B Team is a group of business leaders calling for an end to business as usual. They share the belief that Plan A – where companies are driven by profit alone – is no longer acceptable.
To help the world get to know this inspiring group of leaders, a blog series has been created to share who they are, what they are working on, and where their passions lie. The most recent instalment to the series features B Team leader, Arif Naqvi.
Arif is the Founder of The Abraaj Group. The group was established in 2002 and Naqvi has served as its Group Chief Executive since inception, building it into one of the leading private equity firms in the world. Arif is the Chair of the Global Investment Committee and is widely recognised as a pioneer of growth markets investing with over 17 offices including five regional hubs in Dubai, Istanbul, Mexico City, Nairobi and Singapore.

“Companies, whether big or small, are essential elements to the social fabric of our nations. We need to be at the forefront of change because it’s within our premises that innovation occurs and can be scaled. That’s why the Sustainable Development Goals call for the private sector to get involved in a major way,” said Naqvi.
