It's your last chance to apply for the 2019 German Start Up Energy Transition Award.

The German Energy Agency-backed Start Up Energy Transition (SET) brings entrepreneurs  together from around the world. The goal? To accelerate our transition to smarter and more sustainable power. Alongside a really fun tech festival, clean energy startups can apply for the Startup Energy Transition Award.

The submissions are evaluated by a prominent group of analysts who’ve evaluated a lot of early-stage enterprises. That team, along with a jury of leaders in the climate, energy and entrepreneurship space, eventually select 15 finalists for the Award, who travel to the Tech Festival.

Start-ups may apply until 31.01.2019 – so hurry up!

Tech Festival will take place on 09.04.2019

This year, there are five categories:

Low Carbon Energy Production – Low carbon energy generation will one day push coal and fossil fuel energy out of existence. SET is looking for start-ups with cutting edge innovations that can help accelerate the process of becoming less reliant on carbon energy.

Intelligent Grids, Platforms & Cyber Security – Smart technology and intelligent infrastructure have transformed the way energy suppliers manage energy and carbon emissions. It is high time to build on the momentum of existing innovations and SET is looking for start-ups with the next big smart grid innovation.

Energy Efficiency, Smart Devices & Storage – Today’s average smart phone is more sophisticated and powerful than the computers that put the first man on the moon. So why not put our smart devices to good use? Is your start-up among the top 100 in innovative energy efficiency?

Innovative Mobility – Innovative mobility can play a pivotal role in making clean transportation the norm and greenhouse gas emission a thing of the past. We are looking for start-ups who have the best charging infrastructure, alternative fuels, or innovative battery systems.

Special Prize: Quality Access & SDG-7 – To achieve a global energy transition, we cannot ignore the matter of energy poverty. The SET award strongly encourage start-ups that have the potential to make the biggest dent in ensuring access to affordable energy for all, in an equitable way to apply for the #SET19 Award.
