Discover how the Eve Branson Foundation is taking good care of the locals living around Virgin Limited Edition’s property, Kasbah Tamadot...

When Richard Branson bought Kasbah Tamadot, a beautiful retreat nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, he told his mother that she had to take good care of the area. Eve Branson took the challenge on board and investigated the area. One day, while driving around the mountains, she pointed to Tansghart Village and was abruptly told, “Eve, you don’t want to go there, they throw stones at you.” Of course, the next day Eve made her own way to the town and has never looked back. “And you know,” she says, “I have never had a stone thrown at me.”

This is not a surprise considering the impact of the Eve Branson Foundation (EBF) has had on the lives of villagers. From building a craft house for the manufacture of products, to training the girls how to sell merchandise in “The Berber Boutique” in the Kasbah Tamadot, the Foundation has enriched the lives of more than 75 girls through access to business, education and healthcare.

Eve’s tenacity and ambition for change is pushing EBF to grow even further. The video above announces the launch of the Imsker Café. As well as building a new well to provide the café and village with clean running water, local girls will be trained how to work in a bustling food environment.

We’re keeping our eyes peeled for what the Eve Branson Foundation cooks up next.
