If you’re booking train travel over the bank holiday weekend, why not make it extra rewarding with Virgin Trains Ticketing?

When you book with Virgin Trains Ticketing, you’ll earn three Virgin Points for every £1 you spend – so if your ticket is £20, that’s 60 Virgin Points on top of a trip you’d be doing anyway.

It’s time to jump on board, but how else can you hack your way to your dream points balance?

Earn points with a Virgin Atlantic credit card

Issued by Virgin Money, Virgin Atlantic has two credit cards so it’s easier to choose the one best for you.

The Virgin Atlantic Reward credit card is a free Mastercard, and you’ll earn 0.75 Virgin Points for every £1 you spend – plus 1.5 Virgin Points for every £1 you spend with Virgin Atlantic or Virgin Atlantic Holidays.

The Virgin Atlantic Reward+ credit card is a Mastercard with a £160 annual fee. You’ll earn 1.5 Virgin Points for every £1 you spend – plus three Virgin Points for every £1 you spend with Virgin Atlantic or Virgin Atlantic Holidays. And if that wasn’t enough, you’ll receive a bonus of 15,000 Virgin Points if you make your first purchase within 90 days of opening the account. Plus, if you open your account between 2 May and 13 June 2023 and spend £3,000 on your card within the first 90 days*, you’ll bag yourself an extra bonus 15,000 Virgin Points.

So, if you booked your £20 train and paid for it using your Virgin Atlantic Reward credit card, you’d earn 60 Virgin Points with Virgin Trains Ticketing, plus 15 Virgin Points from your credit card, totalling 75 Virgin Points. Or if you used the Virgin Atlantic Reward+ credit card it would be 30 Virgin Points, totalling 90 Virgin Points. Same journey, same ticket, more rewarding.

Book a getaway with Booking.com

Booking a bank holiday getaway in the UK or Europe with Booking.com will get you eight Virgin Points for every £1 you spend. Plus, Booking.com Genius members can also get access to Genius benefits too – where you can enjoy more discounts and travel rewards. More getaways = more perks.

Get out of the country and boost your points

Wherever you go over the long weekend, book your travel to the airport with Virgin Trains Ticketing and earn Virgin Points. And if you’re flying with Virgin Atlantic**, you’ll build up Virgin Points in the air.

Whether you’re travelling by land or sea, there are loads of ways to earn. For example, if you’re heading to Miami for a breath-taking Virgin Voyage***, if you get a train to the airport with Virgin Trains Ticketing and fly with Virgin Atlantic, you’ll have bumped your points before you even set sail for the Caribbean.

Fuel your body with a train takeaway

Finally, if you’re planning on staying in the UK this bank holiday but need to fuel your bank holiday excursions with some good old grub, why not earn Virgin Points on Deliveroo and take your lunch, coffee or snacks onto the train? Virgin Points earned on train tickets and Virgin Points earned on eating. Two of the best things.
