Director of Business Operations at Virgin Management

Virgin Management sits at the heart of the Virgin Family, and has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Business Operations to join the team. Responsible for supporting the Chief Operating Officer to lead the support functions of Virgin Management by leading on various programmes and business initiatives. 

Key responsibilities will involve:

  • Continuously improve the operating model – organisational structure, systems, processes and policies – in support of Virgin Management’s strategic objectives, purpose and values.

  • Take responsibility for the leadership of the organisation, with the other department heads and senior management team, and the wellbeing and productivity of employees.

  • Develop and lead (including at a strategic and operational level) individual business initiatives to support Virgin Management’s objectives, including management of the relevant budgets and cross-department employee resources where relevant.

  • Provide support to other departments in the form of operations, project and change management and help drive key critical support function initiatives (HR, IT etc) that contribute to long-term operational excellence.

Community Operations Manager at Virgin Unite

Virgin Unite is the not-for-profit, entrepreneurial foundation of the Virgin Group and the Branson family. The foundation now has an interesting opportunity for a Community Operations Manager to join its team in New York and help tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges

This role will involve:

  • Overseeing and executing all operational needs for the community team and related events, gatherings and other activities; refining and improving processes to maximize efficiency and impact of the Community Team’s efforts.

  • Liaising and coordinating with an array of internal and external stakeholders including vendors, partners, service providers as well as other Virgin Unite teams to ensure effective execution of activities.

  • Coordinating with legal, finance, operations and other internal stakeholders to ensure all internal processes and needs from the Community Team are met and executed in a timely fashion.

  • Managing and maintaining systems and procedures critical to the Community Team’s goals and effectiveness including, but not limited to, a community portal, Salesforce, and finance management systems.

Senior Brand Strategy Manager at Virgin Management

Virgin Management has a brilliant opportunity for a Senior Brand Strategy Manager to join the team.

Key responsibilities will involve:

  • Using many sources of insight to identify the things that should be keeping the team up at night from a brand/reputational perspective.

  • Make recommendations to help manage the identified risks or take advantage of the identified opportunities.

  • Work with other Brand and Commercial teams to develop plans which action the recommendations.

  • Advise internal stakeholders on matters of brand strategy (for example, the potential brand/reputational impact of shifts in the portfolio).

  • Assess inbound corporate development opportunities from a brand perspective (will potential new businesses add to Virgin’s reputation, or borrow from it?).

  • Be the ‘brand representative’ on corporate development workstreams, using primary and secondary research to scope and validate the brand opportunity, identify the target audience and create the brand positioning and framework.

  • Work closely with Virgin companies, being a key contributor (or even leading) the development or iteration of their brand frameworks and advising on other brand strategy topics (such as audience definition and marketing approach).
