Virgin Red is the rewards club from Virgin. It’s currently looking for a Press and Communications Officer to join its team.
The Press and Communications Officer will support the delivery of the Virgin Red communications strategy with a laser-sharp focus on PR and partner communications.
Responsibilities of this role include:
Supporting the team with all media and partner communications for Virgin Red, as well as crisis and incident communications
Developing communications that drive visibility for Virgin Red, performance, culture, ways of working and any change initiatives – ensuring alignment with Virgin Management and the wider Virgin Group
Supporting the business in developing relationships with key stakeholders and building your own network of key contacts (specifically journalists and influencers)
Building Virgin Red’s reputation in the media, ensuring it is the first place journalists go for comment on loyalty
Running a smooth press office function, managing the daily coverage, media lists, ensuring the news agenda is kept on top of and manned out of hours
Drafting media relations and other communications – announcements, documents, presentations etc
Working with communication agencies and managing supplier relationships
This role is focused predominantly on Virgin Red media relations, but it’s a small team that works very closely with the Virgin Management external relations team so there may be times when you’re getting involved with other activities, including Virgin Group communications and internal communications.

Virgin Red is also looking for a Head of Loyalty Reward Value to join its team.
This role is an evolution of Virgin Red’s expansion and the growing nature of Virgin’s loyalty rewards within the Virgin group, this is a brand new role within the business. This role will be the subject matter expert in relation to a wide range of redemption initiatives, plans and value creation across the Virgin Points currency. You’ll lead business planning in relation to redemption costs (both short and longer term), whilst driving an operational model to showcase customer value on redemption, leading to increased collection of the loyalty currency.
Key responsibilities include:
Shape, create and deliver redemption initiatives/plans across the loyalty partner portfolio which drive customer engagement with spending points and re-engaging customers with collecting more points
Become the subject matter expert for value creation across the currency, shaping plans both short and long-term to showcase a range of values
Accountable for driving redemption activity, aligned to the business plans you support including core KPIs of loyalty reward costs/margin and points redeemed, cost per points (CPP), customer perceived value (CPV), redemption vs collection ratio
Build a healthy tension between cost control (Finance) and loyalty value (Commercial), finding the right places to invest in value to drive engagement vs the everyday value
Become a single point of contact for Virgin Red and Virgin Management in relation to loyalty value, collaborating closely with Finance, Customer, Marketing and Commercial to deliver consistency across the approach to currency value
In collaboration with partner leads, lead the commercial analysis and the financial budget planning inputs and forecasting process for loyalty rewards (redemption) across all partners, including the ongoing tracking of performance against targets
