Holly is the eldest child of Richard and Joan Branson and from a young age, dreamed of becoming a doctor. On finishing school, she spent six years at the University College London studying medicine, before graduating in 2007 and starting work at Chelsea and Westminster hospital as a junior NHS doctor.
In 2008, Holly made the decision to join the Virgin Group. She spent a year interning across the different companies – getting to know how each worked – before finding her place at Virgin Management. Now as an active part of the Virgin Group senior team, Holly focuses on people and purpose within both existing and new companies across the globe. She has also been involved in the growth of businesses such as Virgin Voyages.
Holly is an active participant of the Virgin Group Leadership team, working across all Virgin companies and prospective new companies and spearheading innovative internal people related projects such as the Virgin Purpose initiative and Unlimited Leave. She is Chair of Virgin Unite (the Virgin Group foundation) and a Founder and Trustee of Big Change. Big Change is a charity that focuses on improving the lives of young people in the UK. Holly is also Co-Chair of We Day UK and a Patron of Virgin Money Giving.
In 2018, Holly published her first book, co-authored with Marc and Craig Kielburger, the international best-seller: WEconomy, You can find meaning, make a living, and change the world.
Holly loves adventure and to challenge herself. She has climbed Mont Blanc; kite surfed the English Channel; and completed several marathons (one of which broke the world record for the most people tied together to do a marathon); as well as undertaking several gruelling Virgin Strive Challenges.
When not ‘changing business for good’, Holly lives in London with her husband Freddie Andrewes and their three children Etta, Artie and Lola.
