Nicola Elliott

, Senior Advisor

As the Senior Advisor I perform the function of central liaison for Richard and the family on behalf of Virgin Unite. Co-ordinating the advance planning and logistics of Richard's Unite related engagements, managing the co-ordination of briefing materials, and reporting income raised from his global speaking engagements (which supports Unite projects) are a few of the tasks you'll find me regularly working on. After starting my career as an EA in at UBS Investment Bank, I realised I wanted to be around more creative people and took the role of setting up and managing Jamie Oliver's office and scheduling.

Five years later the opportunity to join Virgin in 2005 as Richard's Executive Assistant presented itself and I was excited by the challenge of establishing his office on Necker Island and managing his busy schedule. Working closely with Jean Oelwang on his philanthropic engagements I was fortunate to be involved in the incubation of projects such as The Elders and The Carbon War Room which gave me valuable insight into the vision of Virgin Unite. The chance to work alongside both Richard and Jean as the Investor Relations Manager for Virgin Unite seemed like the perfect segway into the non-profit world. I co-ordinated Unite’s annual programme of events – managing the Leadership Gatherings on Necker Island and Connection Trips word-wide, focused on engaging and growing our community of supporters. I now live in London with my husband Jonno (who also works for Virgin) and three children. After ten years at Virgin I am still inspired by the dynamism of the organisation and feel fortunate to work at the intersection of philanthropy and entrepreneurism alongside an energetic team that are focused on making the world a better place.
