BVI Community Support Appeal
In September 2017 we watched in horror as Hurricanes Irma and Maria tore through the Caribbean, causing destruction to everything in their path.
Despite suffering extreme physical damage, the British Virgin Islands are not devastated. Just days after the event, the BVI community displayed unfaltering resilience and determination to rebuild their home and make it stronger, smarter and greener than before.
There is a long journey ahead, but the spirit of the people is stronger than ever.
How can you help?
The Virgin Group will be doing everything we can to support and assist our local community through this extremely testing time. Our thoughts go out to everyone affected by the disaster.
Virgin Unite, Unite BVI and Virgin Limited Edition have launched the ‘BVI Community Support Appeal’ to raise money for the long term reconstruction of the BVI; to fund, support and work with local partners on the ground. We want to help build a better, cleaner, stronger and more sustainable Caribbean region, including a thriving tourism industry.
Unite BVI will be working with the BVI Government and the local community across the whole of the BVI, listening to their needs, in order to come up with a plan to support this long term reconstruction. Please continue to donate to this fundraising effort which will focus on delivering on this plan.
Virgin Unite’s overheads are covered by Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, meaning that 100% of all donations received will go directly to helping support local BVI communities. If for any reason we cannot use the funds for this purpose, or there are surplus funds, we will use the money to support the other important work of Virgin Unite.
