How have you found your virginity?

It’s been really great hearing your thoughts on my new autobiography Finding My Virginity so far. It’s exciting to release it in the US today and to see it on the shelves around the world.

While Finding My Virginity is about my life, the underlying theme is about how you should never lose the thrill of trying something new for the first time. I’m always learning new things in business and in life and have revealed how I’ve made a success (and occasionally a mess) of things over the past 20 years.

I asked you to share what you’ve done for the first time across social media and it was really heart-warming to see some of your replies.

Natalie told me how she was terrified on a recent canyoning adventure and panicked and cried. But she managed to overcome her fears and did a harder route a few weeks later – and actually enjoyed it! She is right when she said you should always try something twice, even if you don’t like it. It’s a great way to build confidence.

Another adventurer faced her fears by snorkelling for the first time despite a fear of water. Holly said it was an amazing experience but it made her sad because there was hardly any live coral left. It’s amazing what you can learn about the world around you when you get out there and try something different – and I hope Holly now has the same desire to protect the planet that I do.

Nancy told me she was a single mother and a grandmother and she decided to start her own business at the age of 49 with the idea of taking families back to the tradition of playtime. Virgin is all about family, so I was glad to hear Nancy has channelled her passion into a business.

Reading their personal stories of endurance, courage and fun inspired me to send them a special book package in the post – I hope you all enjoy it and never lose the thrill of trying new things. Share your own story about trying something new for the first time, and I might highlight your tale next.
