The best way to head into the weekend is with a spring in your step and a smile on your face.

We can help with that: with the sweat of sport and the swagger of Virgin, we're excited to kick off the very first Virgin Sport #GoFitYourself Friday.

I loved launching Virgin Sport San Francisco with Chief Exercise Officer Mary Wittenberg a few months ago, with a mission to inspire movement by building wildly fun festivals of fitness. To celebrate and get people moving, we're launching #GoFitYourself, a call to action for people around the world to share what it means to them to get fit.

Whether it's demonstrating exercises, healthy eating tips, or your favorite stretch after good work out, we want to see it!

How do YOU have fun while getting fit? Beginning today, we'll be sharing #GoFitYourself posts each Friday across our Virgin Sport channels, so go ahead and follow and share your own action too on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Post a photo or video of your best moves, tips or words of encouragement, tag #GoFitYourself and #VirginSportSF, and our handles and Virgin Sport could share your posts on our channels.

Our first US event in San Francisco comes hot on the heels of another event in the UK.

This weekend Virgin Sport is in London for the iconic British 10k, with a Street Party taking place amongst the capital’s famous landmarks.

There will be live music at every kilometre to keep everyone moving forward to the beat, fan hubs, and all sorts of post-run fun. 

Having been at the first Virgin Sport Festival of Fitness in Hackney (you can see some of my own Go Fit Yourself moves from the day in the video above!), I know it’s going to be a thrilling day of making challenge fun, making new friends and enjoying getting active together.

To take it one step further and go the extra mile, register to participate in Virgin Sport San Francisco, heading to the Bay Area this October 13-15th, 2017.

You can join us for the SF Bay Half Marathon, a mile-high race up Twin Peaks or an array of classes, food, art and music in the Fitness Hub.
