Having grown up around family members that thrive on adventure and challenge, taking part in sports and going on adventures is something I have always enjoyed.
The sheer excitement and pride that comes from overcoming something you thought was unachievable is incomparable. That said, there is a whole host of subject matter challenging women from reaching their potential on a daily basis, and not necessarily sports-related.
In an effort to combat this, Virgin Money Giving recently launched an amazing campaign focused on highlighting some of the incredible role models who face challenge every day. Through a series of short films, the likes of cricketer Charlotte Edwards, swimmer Ellie Simmonds, and rower Katherine Grainger come together and discuss a range of topics, from body image and the gender pay gap to obsession, adventure and overcoming adversity – no topics are off limits.
Virgin money giving, one challenge
The campaign is thanks to a new partnership between Virgin Money Giving and Women’s Sport Trust and is focused on championing the success and accomplishments of some of the country’s most inspiring athletes, while raising awareness of the challenges they have faced along the way.
I really recommend you watch and share – we have the power to change the world, #onechallenge at a time.
