Danny is the CEO and co-founder of FaceMe. Having an interest in disruptive technology and innovation, Danny Tomsett established his career in the Telecommunications and IT industry giving him a unique perspective and insight for inventing and developing “over-the-top” innovation. As CEO Danny leads the company with an absolute passion to disrupt front line customer service. Focusing on using disruptive technology to blend AI and human capability to achieve immediate, relevant and meaningful interactions.
A born entrepreneur, Danny at 8 years old was a self-taught programmer and would develop games and applications on his Commodore 64. At this young age, he established a love for IT and a dream to build a technology company.
A career that started as a cloud security engineer in the telecommunications industry he developed key skills and an interest for communication applications. An opportunity presented itself in 2007 when Danny founded Hitech Solutions Ltd. A New Zealand company that specalised in IP Telephony, contact centre and communications solutions. Hitech later evolved into a successful Tier2 telecommunications company for SMB and also develops and sells its own software platforms.
It was out of Hitech that FaceMe was created and a new exciting journey started as he lead a team of talented Kiwi’s to successfully build the world’s first secure, no download, browser based video into contact centre platform. It launched into market on the back of winning Sir Richard Branson’s “Virgin Business challenge” with great success, now supporting customers across the globe with frictionless real-time customer experience whether it be human assisted or AI assisted.
He has an absolute love for the New Zealand beach lifestyle and spending time with his family. Danny has four children and is married to an incredible wife Anna who is often his wisest council.
