Win a holiday in Virgin Holidays' ball pool

Calling all Londoners, Virgin Holidays has launched the first ever Thameside ball pool – and it’s free to dive in!

Filled with more than 140,000 reusable colourful balls, the larger than life swim spot has opened its lanes to kids and adults alike as Virgin Holidays encourages everyone to ignite their spirit of adventure and see the world as their playground.

Olympic diver Tom Daley was the first to dive in and take a tip in the colourful pool. Located at Observation Point on the Southbank, the outdoor ball pool is the biggest in the UK and offers iconic views over London.

“We all have responsibilities and every day pressures, but it is important to remember to have fun along the way,” Tom Daley said. “Whether that means acting like a big kid for a few hours in a giant Virgin Holidays ball pool like me or trying new experiences – avoid mundane routines and ‘take a plunge’ into something exciting. The world is our playground after all!”

Virgin Holidays is opening the ball pool following recent survey results revealing that the average Briton stops having fun at the age of 43, when people are most prone to slip into boredom and say goodbye to their sense of adventure. The research, commissioned by One Poll, showed that we tend to lose touch with our playful side due to cash concerns, perpetual exhaustion and feeling too self-conscious.

But half of those surveyed said they were at their most fun on holiday and nearly as many said they would feel more refreshed with a break in the routine. And how better to break the routine than jump into a ball pool on the Southbank?

“We want to encourage people to get out into world and have fun, stepping away from the all-too-familiar everyday routine,” Managing Director Joe Thompson said. “At Virgin Holidays we want to help everyone enjoy amazing new experiences all around the world. For anyone looking for an adventure closer to home, the Virgin Holidays Ball Pool is the perfect way to dive into a new experience – no swimsuit required!”

But the best part of all is the chance to win a holiday and truly embrace your playful side. Four golden balls are being hidden among the rainbow colours at intermittent periods during the ball pool’s installation and anyone who finds one will be jetting off on a fun-filled holiday for two.

You could be off to the ultimate adult playground Las Vegas, spend a weekend exploring beautiful Barbados, get five nights at Universal’s Aventura Hotel in Orlando to explore the theme parks, or jet off for four nights all-inclusive luxury in Antigua.

The Virgin Holidays Ball Pool is located at Observation Point, Southbank in London and is open from 11am to 7pm on September 13th and 9am to 6pm on September 14th.
