You might think it’s too early, but Virgin Media is already in full Christmas spirit with their Christmas Stars competition.
After Pennine Way Primary School’s production of ‘Robin Hood Saves Santa’ was shared with four million Virgin TV customers last Christmas, Virgin Media is looking for new Christmas stars for 2019.
Again this year, one lucky school will have their festive play professionally recorded and made available to Virgin TV customers in the days leading up to Christmas. They’ll even have TV presenter Stephen Mulhern join the cast to help the school tell their story for a one-off performance. Plus the winning school will receive a £5,000 cash prize.
As well as that, this year Virgin Media has teamed up with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit West End show, School of Rock The Musical, to offer the winning school some incredible experiences – including a performance session with the show’s cast and the chance to see the show in London. To keep the Christmas spirit alive, School of Rock The Musical will generously give the winning school 10 ukuleles so they can keep strumming first-class performances well into 2020.
On top of this, as it’s (nearly) the season of goodwill, Virgin Media will give one runner-up school £1,000 plus 15 ukuleles and 22 regional finalists will each win £100 and two ukuleles.
To enter, head to the Virgin Media Christmas Stars website and answer the question: “Why should your Christmas play be made available to four million Virgin TV customers this Christmas?” and send either a poster or an image promoting the play.
Your school can submit either an original play or one of the fantastic festive tales available from Out of the Ark, one of the UK’s biggest retailers of plays and music for schools.
While you might not be thinking about Christmas just yet, don’t leave it too long – the competition closes at 11.59pm on Tuesday November 19th. For full terms and conditions, head to virginmedia.com/christmas
