Virgin Money has launched a brand new Women in Finance app to assist more companies to take action to improve the gender balance in the financial sector. CEO Jayne-Anne Gadhia explains more...
As a proud signatory of the Women in Finance Charter we are delighted to announce the launch of the Women in Finance App, which is available today via the App Store and Google Play. The free app has been launched to assist companies, like ours, take action to improve gender balance and help create fully inclusive workplaces. The new app shares best practice through case studies, video content and supportive reading provided by signatories of the Women in Finance Charter.
The 2016 Empowering Productivity Report identified 10 positive actions that businesses could focus on in order to drive gender balance across the financial services sector. The 10 positive actions have recently been re-validated by a YouGov survey of people working in Financial Services. The Women in Finance App provides further detail on how organisations have been successfully taking action. The app is a hub of best practice and is a supportive resource, not only to those who have already signed the charter but also for those who are looking to commit to the charter.
As signatories of the charter, Virgin Money have contributed to the app with case studies outlining how enabling flexible working has benefited both our colleagues and business performance. At Virgin Money, we recognise the importance of our colleagues in creating the success of our business. The adage of looking after our colleagues so they can focus on looking after our customers is more than a strap line; it’s the cornerstone of our philosophy of making everyone better off.
