Tomorrow sees Virgin Atlantic bring another instalment of their Screw It Just Do It : Startup & Scale event series to Manchester, with a host of top entrepreneurs on hand to offer up advice to local businesses.
Ex-Dragon’s Den star and Manchester University’s very own Piers Linney will once again be in attendance for a group panel discussion alongside Cemal Ezel of Change Please, Jamie Laing and Ed Williams of Candy Kittens and Rachel Vosper of Rachel Vosper Limited.
"Hard work is your ticket to anywhere," notes Piers. "Even if you have a better product, the competition with an inferior one will win - through hard work. Failing, getting up and going again is hard work. Raising money is really hard work. Having your overdraft pulled is hard work. Selling is hard work. Managing people is hard work. Putting out operational fires as you scale up is hard work. The harder you work, the more opportunities you create and the higher the probability of creating value. Some mistakenly call that 'luck'."
Following the group discussion there will be time to put your questions to the panel, as well as plenty of opportunity to indulge in networking and samples from the brands in attendance. You can secure your ticket for the event here.
As well as the event, Virgin Atlantic and Piers have teamed up to offer the chance to win two return flights from Manchester Airport on a Delta or Virgin Atlantic service and a one-on-one mentoring session with Piers. To be in with a chance of winning you need to secure your ticket for the next event and then ask Piers a question on his LinkedIn profile using the hashtag #AskPiers.
