Virgin Active is hosting an exclusive yoga class with Jambo Truong at its Strand health club.
Jambo is a Forrest Yoga Guardian, a senior teacher of the system that specialises in sequencing yoga for the modern day body language. On Sunday October 1st, he’ll be hosting a special two and a half hour class at Virgin Active Strand for anyone who wants to learn more about how yoga can help unwind the aches and pains of modern life.
Sitting has been branded the new smoking, but we all have to do it – even though it can destabilise the lower spine and hips, causing masses of unnecessary pain. Jambo will introduce a sequence of poses designed to undo what we are doing to our bodies whilst sitting. It’s more than doing abs, it’s more than stretching your back out. It’s more like exercises that you can do in a yoga session, or before and after any exercise training – or even discreetly at your desk!
The session will be divided into two sections: one where the anatomy of the hips and how they relate to the spine will be explained and then one where a dynamic yoga sequence will be introduced, preparing you to race, life or sit.
Jambo is a multi-disciplinary practitioner with a plethora of qualifications in various traditions of well-being related modalities. A teacher of biomechanics and a lover of free weights, he teachers with empathy and a lot of humour.
The class is £20 for Virgin Active members, £25 for non-members. Call the Virgin Active Strand reception on 02073959595 to book your space now.
