MacRebur and bio-bean have been named as the winners of Virgin Media Business VOOM 2016.
After some tough deliberations in the judges room, the two businesses came out on top in the Grow and Start-Up categories and will now take home some pretty impressive prizes, including £250,000 investment and a package of prizes that includes mentoring and all kinds of support needed to make their businesses VOOM.

Richard Branson’s team of judges all said how impressed they were with all the finalists’ pitches and Virgin Media Business MD Pete Kelly commented: “All six of those businesses are going to go on to do amazing things.”
Paint 360, TrustedHousesitters, and What A Melon were also announced as the winner of the special awards – Impact, GREAT, and Crowdfunder.
One of the biggest trends seen across the finalists in all categories and awards at this year’s competition was the desire to make a positive impact on the world. Marcus Butler, YouTube star and VOOM judge, said: “It’s great that all these businesses have some kind of impact on the world. If you can make money as well as making a positive impact then that’s great.”
Tyra Banks added that a similar trend is being seen in the US, where a lot of businesses are working on innovative ways of using waste.
