San Francisco holidays
San Francisco, California, is one of the most amazing cities in America, with a great vibe and many fine attractions to visit, holidays in the crown jewel of the Bay Area are always fun. With great buildings and a fabulous hilly landscape, you’ll find that your own experiences in San Fran will be better than those you’ve seen on the big screen...
The standout landmark in a city filled with sights is of course the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge. You can’t appreciate the iconic feat of masterful engineering until you have walked across the beautifully crafted bridge. Once you reach the other side, rest your feet in the lovely surroundings of the Golden Gate Park. A short ferry away from the mainland lies the legendary prison Alcatraz, with its cells open for tours to the public. Here a handy guide will fill you in on the history of the most famous prison in the world, and also give you the lowdown on some of its more colourful inhabitants, including the fabled Birdman.
For shopping, take the cable car into Union Square to stroll around the department stores and well known shops. You’ll also find lots of bars and restaurants in the Square so unwind after the shops with a nice drink. Union Square isn’t the only place you can get good food from, the whole of San Francisco has an excellent multi-cultural vibe to it, which means the range of dining is very diverse. From Italian to Oriental to Latino and back to classic American there’s something here whatever your tastes may be.

Union Square attracts many bargain hunters with its multitude of shops, Nob Hill, Pacific Heights and Russian Hill are places to see and be seen, while Fisherman's Wharf offers trips to Alcatraz Island. Don’t forget to walk across Golden Gate Bridge and while away some relaxing hours in Golden Gate Park.
