New Orleans holidays
New Orleans is one of the most exotic parts of America, home of the world famous Mardi Gras, a fantastic and colourful street festival. Dubbed “The City of Festivals” New Orleans combines a rich musical atmosphere with fantastic people. There’s something here for everyone including blues, jazz, gospel, rock and more - it’s always party time in New Orleans...
If you want to venture away from the main city then hop on a ferry and ride down Old Man River or delve into the swamps on an airboat. With such a varied culture, you can bet that the food in New Orleans is delicious.
Cajun food is known around the world but New Orleans is where you can taste it in its most authentic form. Creole food is equally well known and once again you will find it in abundance here. There are also lots of great bars where you can not only hear great music, but sip on delicious cocktails, after all New Orleans is where the cocktail was born!
There are many ways of getting around New Orleans but the best way to truly soak in the sights and sounds is to walk. There are also quaint trams to whizz you around if you get a little tired of walking.

Where To Eat
Food is a big thing in New Orleans, with Cajun and Creole dishes taken very seriously indeed. Mulate's the Original Cajun Restaurant is a good place to start for the former. The French Quarter is a must-visit on Virgin holidays to New Orleans for its fine restaurants and lively atmosphere too. Why not enjoy a cocktail with your meal as well – after all, New Orleans is the birthplace of the drink.
