Clearwater holidays
Lying in the heart of the Gulf Beaches, Clearwater is the crown jewel of this area, in particular Sand Key beach has the honour of being one of top 10 beaches in all of America. With an amazing 360 days of sunshine every year you may find it hard to leave the beach but that’s ok because there are many beach-related activities on offer here. At the Clearwater Beach Marina you’ll be able to go on numerous boating expeditions and spot dolphins, manatees and other aquatic wonders. Other types of boating fun include dinner cruises and the immensely popular pirate cruise.
There are lots of cool places to shop in Clearwater, with a number of big shopping malls filled with all your favourite stores, and probably some great ones you may not have heard of. Come dinner time you will be spoilt for choice with many a fine restaurant vying for your custom. With such good weather, you’ll often find yourself enjoying dinner in the sun as a lot of these restaurants offer outdoor dining. As is the norm with seaside resorts, fresh seafood is a specialty here.
When in Clearwater make sure you head down to Busch Gardens, an African themed park with rides galore and over 2,700 animals to go and see. Clearwater also has a number of golf courses, an aquarium and many other fantastic attractions to make sure your holiday isn’t one you’ll forget in a hurry.
What To Do
Spend as much time as you can relaxing on the sun-kissed white sand beaches. If you are after more exhilarating activities on Virgin breaks to Clearwater, head to the lively Pier 60, or take a look around the renowned Clearwater Beach Marina. The Florida Aquarium is worth travelling too as well, while sports fans driving will mainly be carried out on the multitude of high class golf courses. If you are after some top notch shops, go to the Bay Street Mall and International Plaza, which is located nearby.
Where To Eat
Cristino's Coal Oven Pizza comes highly recommended to Virgin holidaymakers after some tasty paninis as well as pizzas. Try Rumba if you are feeling adventurous or Frenchy's Rockaway Grill for some tasty US grub. There are lots of seafood places littered along the beach here, and delis here too – Pickles Plus and the Beach Shanty Cafe are worth a look.
