Boston Holidays
Boston, capital city of the state of Massachusetts, is part of the old guard of America, and one of its oldest cities. A great place to visit, it’s also one of the smaller US towns so you won’t have any trouble strolling around and fitting in all the sights and sounds. With a strong literary and intellectual reputation your first port of call could be a visit to Harvard University, the oldest and most prestigious university in America.
Boston was influential in the historic break away from British rule and the following independence of America. You get a real feel for Boston’s patriotism in and around the city, but a trip along the celebrated Freedom Trail is not to be missed. On the trail you’ll be shown 16 historic sites, each one significant to the history of the United States.
The restaurants in Boston are a real delight and there are many places where you can satisfy even the most gigantic of appetites. The areas of North End and Back Bay are full of Italian restaurants, whilst Chinatown offers sumptuous Asian cuisine by the bucket load. Newbury Street has a big range of diverse dining establishments so even the fussiest of eaters will be able to find something to gorge on.
Boston is a good place to shop, with two big malls, Copley Place and Prudential Center, ready to satisfy your consumer needs. Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall are also worth a visit, with quaint little stores and street performers waiting to charm you.
