Cancun holidays
Cancun is one of the most stunning diverse resorts you are ever likely to visit, and a wonderful snapshot of Mexico for first-time travellers to the country. You can go there to kick back and relax, inhale the holiday breeze and surround yourself in the beautiful white sand of the many beaches.
Cancun is also renowned for being quite a party town, and if you like plan to play hard until the sun comes up, Cancun is a great place to do so. The resort has some outstanding clubs, such as the famous Coco Bongo and Fat Tuesdays. There are also plenty of smaller clubs and bars to suit your mood.
The Great Mesoamerican Reef is the second largest reef in the world, affording divers incredible SCUBA opportunities. Less hardcore divers may prefer snorkelling around the reef to observe the magical sea life in its glorious habitat. You can swim with the dolphins, and have it all recorded for you to take away on DVD.
There are plenty of shops selling everything from clothes to beautiful Mexican souvenirs. The locals are extremely friendly and welcoming, and there are plenty of restaurants with a variety of the finest cuisine.
What To Do
OK, lots of Virgin holidays can offer beautiful oceans to swim in and relax by – but they don't have a lagoon on the other side too. Cancun is brilliant for scuba diving off the Great Mesoamerican Reef, which is the second biggest reef in the world. Hit the many clubs, stroll the golf courses, and get deep into Mayak history at the ruins of Coba and Chichen Itza. A great mix of culture, excitement and relaxation.
Where To Eat
Rich and spicy dishes are here aplenty – Virgin holidaymakers need to make sure they are prepared to try out some new taste buds. The best fish dishes in Cancun are rumoured to be found at La Perla. La Veranda captures the international feel of Cancun and Restaurant Quetzal has lots of choices on its varied menu to feed even the pickiest Virgin traveller in Mexico.
