Virgin Galactic releases new showreel

Virgin Galactic has released a new video documenting the progress of their space mission, featuring highlights from their most recent test flights.

The privately built suborbital spaceship, ‘SpaceshipTwo’, has been recently tested in Mojave, California and will soon be transporting astronauts into space via Spaceport America in New Mexico.

The showreel also features footage of rocket motor testing, the WhiteKnightTwo carrier plane and Richard Branson recalling how it all started.

“I’d seen the moon landing as a young boy and thought “one day, I’m going to do that”, but as the years went by NASA didn’t seem that interested in getting you or me into space,” explained the Virgin Group founder.

“Then around 1990 I suddenly thought that Virgin Galactic sounded like a good name, having registered the name I then had to do something about it.”

To find out what Richard did do about it visit Virgin Galactic.
