Virgin Galactic have confirmed that they have reached a “key milestone” in their preparation of SpaceShipTwo for space flights, as they work to install the aircraft with an oxidizer tank.
“SpaceShipTwo’s Main Oxidizer Tank is being installed now, a key milestone in our program, and a critical step as we prepare for our first rocket-powered test flights,” stated the world’s first commercial spaceline.

Accompanying the announcement was a series of photos, showing the Galactic staff hard at work at the Space Port.

It seems that it’s not just us getting excited about the prospect of an inaugural flight soon taking place, with Richard Branson explaining: “The test flights of our vehicles have gone incredibly well so far and we want to keep it that way. Our amazing engineers and pilots are preparing right now for the first powered spaceship flight.”
