Virgin Australia helps stranded passengers

Virgin Australia has offered to help Air Australia passengers who are currently stranded in Denpasar, Bali following the airline going into administration.

Tourists have found themselves stuck abroad as a result of administrators being appointed last Friday, with all Air Australia flights subsequently being grounded.

Aware of the situation Virgin Australia has acted quickly to give families an affordable way out of the crisis, offering discount flights back to Australia.

“We encourage disrupted guests to book via the website www.virginaustralia.com to take advantage of special fares,” said Danielle Keighery, Virgin Australia Group Executive of Corporate Communications.

“Guests will need to provide details of their existing Air Australia ticket (including reservation number, travel date and flight number) and will then be able to purchase our discounted fares.”

The discount fares are applicable for flights from Denpasar to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and run from February 20th to March 2nd 2012.
