Virgin Atlantic's Maiden Voyager

This week Virgin Atlantic announced plans to create 500 extra jobs as they look to increase their cabin crew, following the opening of two new routes.
The overwhelmingly positive reaction that greeted the news just went to show how valued the airline is amongst air travellers, so much so it got us thinking. What was it all like when Richard Branson first launched Virgin Atlantic?
Looking at the modern day planes take off it’s easy to forget how it all began. The inaugural scheduled service between Gatwick and Newark for Virgin Atlantic was completed using a leased Boeing 747, with the registration ‘G-VIRG’.
We found this picture of the plane, which was christened ‘Maiden Voyager’, on Virgin Atlantic's Facebook and thought it would be good to share. Let us know what you think. How do the modern aircrafts compare? And what about those uniforms?
If all this has made you want to become a part of one of the world’s most exciting airlines then visit the Virgin Atlantic website, where you can find information on both their recruitment process and flights.
