Virgin Atlantic wins Best International Airline award

Virgin Atlantic has been named the Best International Airline in a prestigious awards ceremony.

The airline was honoured at the ninth annual Travel Weekly Readers' Choice Awards at the Plaza Hotel in New York.

Virgin Atlantic was crowned the winner in the fiercely competitive Best International Airline category, with awards also handed out in 58 other categories include Best Destination and Best Theme Park.

Arnie Weissmann, Travel Weekly's editor in chief, said that the awards "identify the industry's finest".

He commented: "The professionals who read and rely on Travel Weekly have the expertise to select those businesses, destinations and hotels that provide a higher level of service to their clients. Our readers can be confident that these winners represent the best this industry has to offer."
