Virgin Atlantic Vancouver inaugural flight

Virgin Atlantic is all set for its inaugural London to Vancouver flight today.
The new route from London Heathrow to Canada will be announced with all manner of exciting events in Vancouver - and a few special guests too.
The #whyYVR competition winner Christina Hegele, who blogs on travel at Jandal Road, will join journalists and VIPs for the once in a lifetime flight to Vancouver.
New singing sensation Conor Maynard - a recent star of Virgin Red Room - will also be there to entertain the guests, and there are a few surprises in store as well.
More than 20,000 bookings have already been made for the Heathrow to Vancouver route, with approximately 40,000 passengers expected on the route in its first season alone.
Virgin Atlantic wrote on the vtravelled blog: "As far as our new route goes, the North American market has always been at the core of our business and Vancouver is a fantastic new destination that we’re all really excited about.
"We’ve had lots of customers asking us to fly to Vancouver over the years, so we’re delighted to launch this new route in response to that demand."
Meanwhile, Virgin Atlantic has recently announced new services to Cancun and Mumbai for later this year, as well as increasing frequency on our routes to Accra, San Francisco and New York.
