This year’s Farnborough International Airshow gets underway in style today, with Richard Branson and Virgin Galactic unveiling a full-size, replica model of the revolutionary SpaceShipTwo.
As you can see from the above picture, the sun is shining at the site and Galactic’s first life-size replica is glistening. As well as a strong Virgin presence the airshow will see; a five-hour flying display featuring aerobatic display teams, classic planes and speeding jets, the RAF Red Arrows, the Breitling Jet Team, The Blades, RedHawks and Breitling Wingwalkers.
It is also rumoured that today will see the Virgin Group founder announce plans for a Galactic Cargo system, which would see elements of the commercial spaceline used to provide a responsive, low-cost system of mini satellites which could be used for extensive research.
