Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish on Virgin America

Virgin America has named a plane after Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

The late entrepreneur's famous quote "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" is emblazoned on the side of the Virgin America plane.

Steve Jobs used the phrase in his 2005 commencement address at Stanford University, revealing he heard of it himself in The Whole Earth Catalog.

He said: "On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: 'Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish'. It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you."

The name was chosen as part of an internal plane naming competition and has been flying since last year.

Virgin America's latest plane was recently named Scarlett O'Air, and the airline famously became the first to have a hashtag plane - #nerdbird.

Philadelphia was recently named as Virgin America's next stop - go to the website to find out more.
