Richard Branson, Willie Nelson do Dallas

Richard Branson and Willie Nelson are helping Virgin America launch their new flights to Dallas Fort-Worth.

The first new flight service has landed in Dallas Fort-Worth, with Richard Branson and the Virgin America crew decked out in cowboy boots and hats.

Some cattle were on hand to, just emphasizing Virgin America's promise not to herd you like cattle on flights.

Last night Richard Branson, fresh from introducing revolutionary iPad magazine PROJECT to the world, hosted a special event at Dallas Opera House with legendary Texas outlaw Willie Nelson playing a secret set.

Virgin America’s Lone Star Launch Party was for a good cause and a good time - with proceeds going to the Stand Up to Cancer campaign.

"With touch-screen entertainment offering live TV, movies and hundreds of entertainment choices and new aircraft that look like nothing else in the skies, we think our service will be a breath of fresh air for Dallas-Fort Worth travelers," said Virgin America President and CEO David Cush.

"Before today, flyers along the routes had very little choice. A little healthy competition is always a good thing – and we hope our flights can bring some style and fun back to flying."

Laura Ziskin, one of the Stand Up To Cancer co-founders, added that this unique Virgin America Dallas Fort-Worth flights launch event could inspire "countless new recruits in Texas to stand up with us".

She commented: "We need for people all over the country to believe that curing cancer is doable. In typical Virgin fashion, this airline likes to stand up for a good cause and a good time.

"The fact that guests can learn about our researchers’ work and donate onboard is a first for us. We’re grateful to Sir Richard Branson, Willie Nelson and everyone at Virgin America for partnering on a unique campaign and launch event that has inspired."
