Richard Branson reveals his London haunts in free new London City Guide app

Are you one of the many globetrotters arriving in London this week? Make sure that you download Richard Branson’s exclusive insider guide to London in ‘Virgin Atlantic’s London City Guide’ app.

With itineraries from famous Londoners such as designer Alice Temperley, to the Virgin Atlantic crew themselves – discover London’s best kept Virgin secrets in the free programme for iPhones and iPads.

Use the app to check out the top 10 films featuring London and find out how to best fashion that ‘London look’.

A handy in-app calendar also helps users keep track of sporting activities whilst informative augmented reality views display at iconic sites around the city.

Can’t wait to download the app? Here are Richard’s top five London loves:

1. What parts of London inspire you?

I love Notting Hill and Westbourne Grove – there is so much life and vitality around Portobello and Ladbroke Grove. It has come up a lot since I started Virgin more than 40 years ago but there is so much character

2. How do you indulge when you’re in London?

We love to have a big family meal at nice restaurants such as Assaggi in Westbourne Grove. Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen is also excellent.

3. Do you have a favourite London landmark?

It has to be the London Eye, because it reminds me of the time we played a brilliant joke on its sponsor BA. They were having trouble erecting it, so we flew an airship over the Eye bearing the slogan ‘BA Can't Get It Up!!

4. Which restaurants do you prefer for a business power lunch?

I am biased but I love Babylon at Kensington Roof Gardens. Great food and great views. Recently had breakfast at the Langham too, beautiful dining room.

5. What are your top three drinking establishments in London?

The pubs around our old offices such as Ladbroke Arms and The Windsor Castle are great. As is the new St Pancras hotel, it’s a really impressive space.

The Virgin Atlantic London City Guide is available for free now in the iTunes App Store.
