Virgin Trains have announced that they are adding even more long-distance train services to and from Scotland from London.
There will be two more tilting Virgin Pendolinos a day travelling in each direction every hour between Glasgow Central and London Euston for the first time.
There will also be two additional calls by London trains each way at Carlisle and Penrith North Lakes and one more in each direction for Oxenholme The Lake District.
This takes the total of Virgin Trains crossing the Border at Gretna to 60 - making it Scotland’s biggest operator of long-distance trains to and from England.
The new service is yet another success for the company who last week confirmed a further two years of service and yesterday announced the successful completition of their Pendolino extension project.
