America to Australia with Virgin

Virgin America and Virgin Australia have announced a new codeshare service, allowing customers seamless journeys on routes serviced by the two airlines.

Under the agreement, Virgin Australia will codeshare on Virgin America services from Los Angeles to eight destinations including Portland, Washington, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Philadelphia and Seattle.

“The United States is a very important market for Australia; it is the third most popular international destination for Australian visitors and our fourth biggest source of overseas visitors to Australia,” said Virgin Australia Group Executive Merren McArthur.

“We are delighted to offer Virgin Australia guests access to Virgin America services in the United States and to offer them frequent flyer recognition throughout the journey.”

The announcement marks a great stride forward for the two airlines, with the Virgin airlines continuing their close relationship that saw them recently launch the Fly Virgin website.

“This is the first-ever codeshare agreement for our young airline and we are excited to offer a more seamless experience to travellers from both sides of the Pacific, especially our most loyal guests – those who seek out the award-winning service for which Virgin airlines are known,” said Diana Walke, Virgin America’s Vice President of Planning and Sales.

To take advantage of the new seamless service, visit Virgin America or Virgin Australia to book a flight.
