500 and counting for Virgin Galactic

Virgin Galactic’s Astronaut Relations team have this week revealed that they have received a booking for their 500th future astronaut – coming from none other than Ashton Kutcher!
Kutcher will be joined by friend, and global entrepreneur, Shervin Pishevar on the flight, who himself signed up as passenger 499. The news marks an exciting week for the world’s first commercial spaceline, following Richard Branson’s appearance at London’s O2 Arena on Sunday evening where he talked passionately about the work of Galactic.
“Virgin Galactic is the most exciting business that we’ve ever launched and I still sometimes have to pinch myself that it’s for real,” explained the Virgin Group founder on his blog.
“I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate and welcome him. He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself. “
