Dubai holidays
Due to its astonishingly rapid development and flurry of world class resort construction, Dubai has become the most popular destination for fabulous holidays for the 21st Century. Drawing the attention of holiday makers the world over with such marvels as the man-made islands of The Palm, Dubai is set to construct ever more impressive wonders. Both the World’s tallest building and first undersea hotel are under construction here, and on completion will establish Dubai as the holiday capital of the world.
Shopping enthusiasts will be delighted at the sheer range of opportunities that Dubai offers. If the 24 vast, air conditioned malls complete with tax-free benefits are not enough, the local souks (marketplaces) are excellent places to hone your bartering skills as you can haggle over the price of anything from gold jewellery to the finest silks. There’s always a bargain to be had somewhere and finding it is half the fun.
In keeping with the ‘no expense spared’ philosophy of Dubai, its golf courses are simply breath-taking. Lovingly crafted under the influence of some of the world’s top golfers such as Ian Baker-Finch and Colin Montgomerie, they are the perfect place to tee off from. If golf is not your thing, why not take a traditional river cruise in an authentic dhow, the moonlight tours are a spectacular way to see Dubai at night.
Dubai offers holiday fun for all the family and is a great place for kids. The wide range of amenities such as the amazing indoor ski centre and Wild Wadi water park with its 23 exciting water slides to name but a few.
What To Do
Dubai is the place to go for a Virgin holiday for state of the art facilities, world firsts and shopping sprees at fashion centres like the Mall Of The Emirates. There is also traditional Virgin travel treats such as the 18th century Al Fahidi Fort and the Dubai Museum. But what attracts most people is the thrill of new advancements, not to mention the combination of sand and sea.
Where To Eat
Yia Yia is worth seeking out for people on a romantic Virgin travel break, with its warm atmosphere and Cypriot food. Royal Express is a novel treat, themed around old fashioned railways. The numerous luxury hotels also contain popular eateries with celebrity chefs often creating the sumptuous menus.
