Banff also enjoys the luxury of being one of the undiscovered gems of Canadian skiing, which means the slopes are much less crowded than the likes of Whistler. As Banff doesn't receive the same kind of demand as other resorts, things tend to be cheaper, making your cash stretch further.
If you want to explore and delve into different activities other than skiing, snowmobiling through Banff is a lot of fun and a great way to see a sample of the wildlife up on the mountain trails. Husky dog sledding is a regional favourite and unique experience, but if you'd rather stay away from the cold, you can luxuriate in the warmth of the natural hot springs.
As well as superb skiing, the apres-ski down in the Banff town is phenomenal. With a diverse array of restaurants to suit all the tastes, you will be spoilt for choice. It is inexcusable to visit Banff without trying the mouth-watering Alberta beef.
A short ride from Banff, you can visit the famous Olympic town of Calgary, the ideal place to catch a game of ice hockey.
