World Oceans Day

I am gearing up for World Oceans Day tomorrow, June 8th, and everyone can join the celebration and start to do something to save our oceans.
If you haven't seen it, Newsweek just had a cover story (see photo above) that said within 40 years we could face an ocean without fish - a catastrophe for humanity. World Oceans Day is a perfect time to work together to restore the health and productivity of oceans.
Virgin Unite is supporting an effort by the OceanElders, WildAid, and theBlu.com to make this the biggest World Oceans Day ever with "If You Love The Ocean, Download It!" at www.theBlu.com.
The event will unite individuals, communities, and organisations all over the world in a globally shared moment celebrating the beauty and significance of the world's ocean.
And if you want to learn more, I've benefited from reading Callum Roberts' "Ocean of Life", which shows how parts of the Ocean are already turning to wastelands devoid of dolphins, whales, sharks and fish and dominated by algae and jelly fish. You can find an excerpt in Newsweek/the Daily Beast.
