Virgin London Marathon update
- Nov 12, 2009
Since the launch of Virgin Money Giving on 14 October we have had a great response, and lots of running man videos coming in. My personal favourite is the ‘DaviesBruvvers’ fantastic interpretation of the Running Man – they certainly outdid my attempts at the dance which you can also see on my YouTube page! Take a look for yourself and why not put together your own video - remember for every running man video submitted to YouTube, £5 will go to charity.
The Run with Richard competition has also seen a huge level of interest, but there are still a few days to enter. All you have to do is send me a message of 50 words or less, telling me why you deserve a place in the Virgin London Marathon before the 16 November 2009. And if you don’t want to write in, why not send in a video?
The winner will get a place in the marathon and have the chance to join me at the starting line.
With most people now sure of their place in the first Virgin London Marathon, it’s a fantastic time to put your own Virgin Money Giving page together – it only takes a few minutes and there are plenty of ways to personalise the page and highlight your charitable cause.
Over the next five years, to tie in with our sponsorship of the Marathon, Virgin Money Giving aims to help raise £250 million, but the site is not just for the runners out there. Already we have got people aiming to swim the channel, others who will be cycling across America and a few who will be walking over hot coals - all in the name of charity!
