The red planet

Hopefully in my lifetime Virgin Galactic will contribute in getting people to Mars. After all, it is known as the red planet!

August 6th will be an exciting evening as NASA's $2.5billion unmanned program is expected to land on Mars.

The Mars Science Laboratory, a wheeled rover nicknamed Curiosity, could give scientists two years to collect information about Mount Sharp and the surrounding area of Mars.

However, success or failure for the mission will be determined within seven minutes of entry, descent and landing.

will.i.am has even written a song to be played on the Mars mission. Recording songs in space – now there’s an idea…

Good luck to all involved in the project. What an incredibly exciting time for space exploration.
