The insane war on drugs – you have to laugh

There are few more serious, concerning problems in the world than the continuing failure of the war on drugs and governments’ refusal to look into alternatives.
However, sometimes you have to laugh, otherwise you will have to cry. The war on drugs is one such example.
Here are five videos picked out by Tony Newman, Director of Media Relations at the Drug Policy Alliance, that show just how ridiculous the drug war really is.
Chris Rock, Bill Hicks, the Daily Show, the Chappelle Show and my old adversary Stephen Colbert use comedy over at the Huffington Post to put it better than most.
Of course, there are statistics and reports to back up the view that the war on drugs has failed too – here’s a report from Release detailing how decriminalisation of drug possession does not lead to increase in drug use.
