The Big Climb - video

Personally I thrive on challenging experiences. The opportunity to test yourself, push through psychological boundaries and see what you are really capable of has always fascinated me. And going through that experience with friends makes it all the more enjoyable!

In 2010 I joined up with my sister Holly and 32 friends to run the marathon tied together as a caterpillar. We broke a world record, raised money for some great charities, bonded as a group and it was in that spirit that our start up charity Big Change Charitable Trust was born. Big Change supports projects that improve the lives of young people in the UK and we also want to show that while charitable work can be challenging, it should also be rewarding and fun. Only one problem, how to launch?

Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in Western Europe and climbing it seemed like a challenge that would really test us. After a few months of training, the Big Change founders myself, Holly, Isabella, Bea, Sam R and Phil all headed to Chamonix to embark on one of the toughest weeks of our lives. Dad couldn’t resist the temptation to come along too and was with us every step of the way. Check out the video and have a look at my blog for more details of the week itself. It was an experience I will never forget and I would recommend it for anyone with an adventurous spirit.
