Not everybody is cut out to be an entrepreneur. But that doesn't mean you can't still come up with new ideas working within an organisation. This is where intrapreneurs come in: they unleash the power of innovation from inside companies.
Mike Richards, a tennis professional here on Necker Island, is one such intrapreneur at Virgin. He came up with an idea to set up the most exclusive tennis tournament ever to raise money for good causes.
He has managed to persuade the number one tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, to come down to Necker and head up the inaugural Necker Cup.
We will be raising money for the Novak Djokovic Foundation as well as Virgin Unite and other good causes, including local charities here in the BVI.
We've been preparing by training local kids in the British Virgin Islands as ball boys and girls. Watch this space for more news on the Necker Cup and how to get involved.
