The world's eyes will be on the UK over the next four months of the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics. What kind of society will they see?
I hope it will be a society in which we find the isolation of neighbours intolerable. With one in three households now being single person and half of all those aged 75 and over living alone, there has never been more social isolation.
