After the Arab Spring the next most important thing to help Egypt is to help thousands of young people become entrepreneurs. They are the people who can help get Egypt back on its feet again. I am heading to Cairo later in the week for an Elders meeting, where they are trying to help resolve conflicts in the region and elsewhere.
Gro Harlem Brundtland, Jimmy Carter and Mary Robinson are already in Egypt offering encouragement and support for an inclusive democratic transition. They are meeting with the President of the Republic, Mohamed Morsi, religious leaders, senior officials and diplomats, human rights and women’s organisations, members of civil society and young people.
The three Elders will take the stage at the Cairo Opera House with four young Egyptians for a live, televised debate about the role of young people in Egypt's democratic transition. It's starting now, so tweet your questions to #AskTheElders.
Have offered to do a discussion event with Enigma Magazine to share my experience as an entrepreneur and adventurer. Doing it for free, but asking people if they can make a small contribution towards a great charity - INJAZ. 100% of all donations are going to this excellent organisation, which inspires future entrepreneurs.
The event will take place at the Four Seasons Nile Plaza in Cairo at 8pm on October 29th. Those interested can book seats by emailing us at enigma@enigma-mag.com or calling +2012 226 77104. Hope you can join us!
