Higgs boson to COSMOS

Incredible news about the discovery of the Higgs boson from the Cern scientists at the Large Hadron Collider. This really could prove to be an historic milestone for the world.
Many people who would not profess an interest in science per se are being drawn in by these exciting new developments, from the Higgs boson to the creation of the first commercial spaceline, Virgin Galactic.
There is plenty of fun to be had in the scientific world. Somebody who always keeps this in mind is Virgin Galactic astronaut-in-waiting Professor Stephen Hawking. He joked that the discovery has come at a high price: he had a bet with a fellow scientist that the particle wouldn’t be found, and has now lost £100!
For those who are fascinated by science, I can heartily recommend the new COSMOS iPad magazine. It’s a beautifully designed read and covers everything from evolution to cutting edge new discoveries. The app itself is free, and there's a free issue to download and try. Enjoy!
